The Doors: The Band
Ray Manzarek, John Densmore, Robby Krieger, Jim Morrison
The Doors group was born unexpectedly on the Venice beach in LA during the summer of 1965 and the band has taken the name from Aldous Huxley’s psychotropic monograph “The Doors of Perception”. The Doors arrived on the rock scene with their debut album ‘The Doors’ in 1967. They released six studio albums in all, as well as a live album and a compilation, before Morrison’s death in 1971. The remaining members continued as a trio and collaborated on two more original Doors albums until finally disbanding in 1973 but even 46 years after their debut album, The Doors’ music and legacy are more influential than ever before. The Doors were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 1993. It’s a daunting task for me to come up with just top 10 songs without getting burned, so in this post I’ll list down my 25 favorite songs from ‘The Doors’ band.
